What is a donor advised fund?

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes. Immediate tax deductions and tax-free growth on a contribution are typical benefits for those making gifts through a DAF.

If you have a participating DAF, you can recommend a grant to McLean Presbyterian Church; all gifts received through a DAF will support our General Fund, unless you specify otherwise.

How does it work?

  • Establish your DAF by making an irrevocable, tax-deductible donation to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.
  • Recommend grants to McLean Presbyterian Church — use tax ID for MPC: 54-0957095.
  • To confirm your gift, MPC sends a quarterly acknowledgment letter of DAF contributions.
  • You will receive your tax-deductible receipt from the financial institution that manages your DAF.
