BEHOLD THE LAMB
ISAIAH 55:1-3A
Leader: “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no
money, come, buy and eat!
All: Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Leader: Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your
labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat
what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.
All: Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live.”
HERE I AM TO WORSHIP
Light of the world, you stepped down into darkness,
Opened my eyes, let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore you,
Hope of a life spent with you.
Chorus: Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you’re my God.
You’re altogether lovely, altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.
King of all days, oh, so highly exalted,
Glorious in heaven above.
Humbly you came to the earth you created,
All for love’s sake became poor. Chorus
Bridge: I’ll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross. (repeat) Chorus 2x

ALL I HAVE IS CHRIST
I once was lost in darkest night, yet thought I knew the way.
The sin that promised joy and life had led me to the grave.
I had no hope that you would own a rebel to your will,
And if you had not loved me first, I would refuse you still.
But as I ran my hell-bound race, indifferent to the cost,
You looked upon my helpless state and led me to the cross.
And I beheld God’s love displayed, you suffered in my place.
You bore the wrath reserved for me—now all I know is grace.
Chorus: Hallelujah, all I have is Christ. Hallelujah, Jesus is my life.
Hallelujah, all I have is Christ. Hallelujah, Jesus is my life.
Now, Lord, I would be yours alone and live so all might see
The strength to follow your commands could never come from me.
Oh, Father, use my ransomed life in any way you choose,
And let my song forever be: my only boast is you. Chorus 2x

Leader: Merciful God, we confess that so often our discipleship has been weak. When we have failed to serve as Jesus served;
All: Lord, forgive us.
Leader: When we have failed to love one another as Jesus loves us;
All: Lord, forgive us.
Leader: When we have been happy to proclaim our devotion to Jesus with our
lips and then denied him by our actions;
All: Lord, forgive us.
Leader: Merciful God, empower us by your Spirit to be steady and true to you in every time of trial; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Written by Moira Laidlaw
ROMANS 5:6, 9
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
Leader: Because we have been justified by the blood of Christ, we now have
peace with God and with one another. May the peace of Christ be with you.
People: And also with you.

SURELY HE HATH BORNE OUR GRIEFS
Chancel Choir
Surely He hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.
He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities.
The chastisement of our peace was upon Him.
Music by G.F. Handel, from The Messiah, 1741. Words by Charles Jennens.
BEHOLD THE LAMB
Behold the Lamb who bears our sins away, slain for us—and we remember
The promise made that all who come in faith find forgiveness at the cross.
So we share in this bread of life, and we drink of his sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of peace around the table of the King.
The body of our Savior Jesus Christ, torn for you—eat and remember;
The wounds that heal, the death that brings us life paid the price to make us one. So we share in this bread of life, and we drink of his sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of love around the table of the King.
The blood that cleanses every stain of sin, shed for you—drink and remember
He drained death’s cup that all may enter in to receive the life of God.
So we share in this bread of life, and we drink of his sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of grace around the table of the King.
And so with thankfulness and faith we rise to respond—and to remember
Our call to follow in the steps of Christ as his body here on earth.
As we share in his suffering, we proclaim Christ will come again!
And we’ll join in the feast of heaven around the table of the King.

MARK 14:12-26 (CHURCH BIBLE P. 850)

People: Thanks be to God!
BEHOLD THE KING
2. The King’s Table
During the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, true believers who repent of their sins and desire to live as followers of Christ, who revealed himself to be fully God and man in one person, are invited to partake. Children who have not been received by the Session into communing membership after a public confession of faith should refrain even though they may have personally received the Savior, because of the responsibility of the recipient to discern the Lord’s body.
PRAYER OF FAITH FOR THOSE PARTAKING OF THE SACRAMENT
Gracious Lord, I do not presume to come to this your Table trusting in my own righteousness, but in your manifold and great mercies. In my own righteousness I am not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under your Table. But, by your grace, grant that I may draw near to you by faith; eat and drink in remembrance that you died for me. And grant that I may feed on you in my inner being by faith with great thanksgiving. Lord, please open the eyes of my heart that I may know the hope of your calling, the riches of the glory of my inheritance and the surpassing greatness of your power toward me in Jesus Christ. Amen.
Those who do not have a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ are asked to refrain from partaking and are invited to use this time to meditate on one of the following prayers:
PRAYER FOR THOSE SEARCHING FOR TRUTH
Lord Jesus, you claim to be the way, the truth, and the life. Grant that I might be undaunted by the cost of following you as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what you claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and open to me the reality of who you are. Give me an understanding of you that is coherent, convincing, and that leads to the life that you promise. Amen.
PRAYER OF BELIEF
Lord Jesus, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever before believed, but through you I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt, bearing my punishment on the cross, and offering forgiveness and new life. Knowing that you have been raised from the dead, I turn from my sins and receive you as Savior and Lord. Amen.
PRAYER FOR CHILDREN OBSERVING COMMUNION
Lord Jesus, I do not understand everything about this communion service. But I know that it is good. Jesus, when I feel hungry for the bread, please help me to hunger for you instead. When I wish I could taste the sweetness of the juice, please help me instead to think of the sweetness of your love. Lord Jesus, thank you that your broken body and your blood paid for my sin. I love you Lord. Amen.
1 CORINTHIANS 11:23-26
For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
YOU ARE MY KING
I’m forgiven because you were forsaken. I’m accepted, you were condemned.
I’m alive and well, your spirit is within me because you died and rose again. (repeat)
Chorus: Amazing love, how can it be that you my King would die for me?
Amazing love, I know it’s true, and it’s my joy to honor you.
In all I do, I honor you.
Bridge: You are my King. You are my King.
Jesus, you are my King. Jesus, you are my King. Chorus 2x
In all I do, I honor you.

AMAZING GRACE!
Amazing grace!—how sweet the sound— that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come;
‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we’ve first begun.
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we’ve first begun.

JESUS MESSIAH
He became sin who knew no sin, that we might become his righteousness.
He humbled himself and carried the cross; love so amazing, love so amazing.
Chorus: Jesus, Messiah, name above all names, blessed Redeemer, Emmanuel.
The rescue for sinners, the ransom from heaven, Jesus, Messiah, Lord of all.
His body the bread, his blood the wine, broken and poured out all for love.
The whole earth trembled, and the veil was torn, love so amazing, love so amazing. Chorus
Bridge: All our hope is in you, all our hope is in you,
All the glory to you, God, the light of the world. Chorus 2x

WE WILL FEAST IN THE HOUSE OF ZION
Chorus: We will feast in the house of Zion.
We will sing with our hearts restored.
He has done great things, we will say together.
We will feast and weep no more.
We will not be burned by the fire; he is the Lord, our God.
We are not consumed by the flood; upheld, protected, gathered up. Chorus
In the dark of night, before the dawn, my soul, be not afraid.
For the promised morning, oh, how long? Oh, God of Jacob, be my strength. Chorus
Ev’ry vow we’ve broken and betrayed, you are the faithful one.
And from the garden to the grave, bind us together, bring shalom. Chorus 2x
