Can I worship with people with whom I’ve been “quarantining” and who are outside of my household?
Yes! Just please make sure only one person RSVPs for your whole group and you arrive to the Fellowship Hall together with everyone you are worshiping with for that Sunday.
Will worship services be different?
Watch these short videos to see worship at McLean and Fairfax.
Let’s be honest: worship feels different. We’re sitting far from one another, and there is less singing (worship team only at 9am, the song of sending at all other times). We’re adding more spoken liturgy to our services, and helping you find ways to participate by meditating on lyrics, journaling during songs, or kneeling/lifting your hands. On Sundays that we serve communion it will be served as individually-packaged elements. Services will be touchless; lyrics and liturgy will be on screen or available via your phone.
What safety measures are you taking?
We are asking groups to maintain six feet of distance (ten feet when singing) and will wear masks inside. We’re cleaning before and between services and following all CDC cleaning standards. Full details for McLean and Fairfax.
What if the RSVP’s fill up? Will I be put on a waiting list for the following week?
If all slots are full when you get to the form, let us know you want to come next week and we will send you the form early. We’re asking everyone to attend every other week to allow a larger percentage of our congregation to worship in person as we work to add capacity.
Should I count children in my RSVP number?
Yes, all individuals attending service no matter their age should be included in the total number of seats reserved. This ensures that each family has plenty of space to worship. Be sure to provide the total number of people in the first section and then indicate if any of those included in the total are children to help our staff plan (we have special bags for your kids!).
Is there Sunday School or nursery care available?
At this time all of our Sunday children’s ministries (and student ministries!) are online only. Your kids are very welcome to worship with you! We’ll have special bags for them to help them participate throughout the hour; pick them up near the worship entrance.
What happens if I am no longer able to attend worship or would like to attend a different service time?
If it is before 5pm on Friday, contact our office at 703.821.0800 or [email protected]. If you need to cancel after Friday, don’t worry about it, but please do not come at a different service time than you RSVP’d for if you were unable to confirm the change with our office. We want to make sure to leave room for newcomers at each service and the RSVPs help us plan.
What if I am not receiving the RSVP email?
The RSVP email link is being distributed through our Weekly email recipient list.
