When it comes to tech use, parents can feel “always three apps behind” their children. How can we help our children wisely engage with technology, especially as it continues to evolve and is increasingly embedded into their world?
During this special MomsConnect meeting, speaker Anne Chen* examined what tech-wise discipleship looks like with our children. We discussed biblical truths for technology, age-appropriate tech use, healthy digital practices — and fostering a family culture that embraces what is truly life-giving as part of tech-wise parenting.
*Anne Chen served as a Research Fellow at the Center for Technology, Innovation & Competition at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, and as a Student Fellow at the Information Society Project at Yale Law School, where she received her J.D. She has led women’s Bible studies for over ten years and currently serves as a co-leader of her local neighborhood Bible study. A member of McLean Presbyterian Church, Anne lives with her husband and four children in McLean, Virginia.
Whether we like it or not, all of us live in an era surrounded — or even dictated — by our digital devices and platforms. What are the heart issues at play when we interact with digital technology? What does it mean to flourish — to become the kind of people God wants us to be — in this digital age?
During our 2024 Women’s Fall Breakast, speaker Anne Chen helped us explore our relationship with technology from a biblical framework as we considered how to design our rhythms, spaces, and structures to live wisely and faithfully in today’s tech-infused world.
