We meet as a group one Saturday a month from September through May for a time of Bible teaching — an in-depth study of Ephesians, book discussion, prayer, and fellowship. We read one book per month; view sample syllabus.
In addition, each participant is matched with a mentor with whom they meet one-on-one at least once a month.
All participants are required to attend the yearly retreat in October, which provides an opportunity to grow in depth of relationship as we dig deep with our studies and discussions.
An application is required for participation and helps us with mentor matching.
Participants commit to meeting one Saturday a month (September 2025–May 2026) at McLean Presbyterian Church from 9am–12pm.
A key element of Crosstrainers is the October retreat held in Sugarloaf Mountain, MD, which provides an opportunity to grow in depth of relationship as we dig deep with our studies and discussions.
The 2025 retreat is the weekend of October 17–19 and is mandatory for all participants.
Crosstrainers is an intentionally small community (typically, 8–12 participants) of career women. Discussions focus on faith and vocation; this is an environment where Christ-centered perspectives and encouragement provide support to you — particularly as a follower of Christ at your workplace.
Additionally, we lean into one-on-one mentorship — each participant is paired with a mentor who understands your career season and may have had similar work or life experiences.
Another distinctive is our annual retreat — we begin our year together by getting away for an interpersonal and connected time. The retreat sets the tone for Crosstrainers: we’re a tight-knit sisterhood with a deep commitment to walk alongside one another as career women who love Jesus.
“As a single woman in the workplace, I am thankful for the Crosstrainers ministry as a means to connect with other women at various career stages and with diverse professional backgrounds. The community that we have built is a great encouragement to me; we support each other, we pray together, and we equip each other to thrive in the intersection of faith and vocation.”
“What a blessing to be part of a church that honors and seeks to disciple women whom God has called to vocations in the marketplace. I am grateful for the teaching, discussion, and fellowship I have experienced in Crosstrainers.”
“Crosstrainers provided a depth in studying God’s Word, mentoring, and integration of faith-focused materials that has grown my walk with Jesus and strengthened me to consistently live my faith through my work.”
Crosstrainers participants commit to attending:
Our community of women actively cares for one another, providing support that comes out of our shared commitment that spans the academic year.
